Universal, because of obligations to Hasbro, pens writer of such hits as ‘Ace Ventura 2′ for the new Stretch Armstrong Movie. Let the suckage begin.

Universal Pictures has made a series of deals with Hasbro to adapt board games and toys into big screen movies. Last year the studio signed Ridley Scott to develop a movie based on Monopoly, and just last week they announced that Platinum Dunes was developing a movie based around the Ouija board and Etan Cohen was writing a screenplay for Candyland with Enchanted director Kevin Lima to direct. Variety reports that the studio has signed Steve Oedekerk to write a big screen adaptation of Stretch Armstrong. His filmography is filled with some bad to horrible films, including: The Nutty Professor, Ace Ventura 2: When Nature Calls, Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, Bruce Almighty and the sequel Evan Almighty.
I don’t even know what to say to this. I think Hollywood needs a vacation to clear their head so they can come back with more original ideas.

“Office Space” cast reunite for 10th anniversary screening and Q&A with audience. Milton gets his stapler back and a piece of cake.

RollingStone.com – “What does TPS stand for?” asked one of the audience members at last night’s 10th anniversary screening of the cult flick Office Space.
“I guess I can settle this once and for all,” Mike Judge, the movie’s writer and director, said of the dreaded report his protagonist, Peter Gibbons, failed to attach a cover sheet to, despite his eight bosses’ memo to do so. “When I was an engineer, it stood for Test Program Set. Isn’t that exciting?”
I would have loved to have been at this screening. Office Space has and will be one of my top 10 movies of all time.

Angelina Jolie asks Thai government to aid refugees. Appearantly she’s jealous of Octuplet Mom’s 14 kids.

Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie has asked Thailand to permit greater freedom for thousands of refugees stuck in camps after fleeing neighboring Myanmar, according to a U.N. statement released Friday.
Jolie and actor Brad Pitt traveled to a refugee camp in northern Thailand on Wednesday in effort to draw international attention to what the U.N. has called “restricted” movement of roughly 111,000 refugees housed in nine camps along the Thai-Myanmar border, the statement said.
Jolie has spent several years as a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees. She said her passion for helping refugees, whom she calls “the most vulnerable people in the world,” was sparked in 2001 during visits to Cambodia.”
