TMZ – Ellen DeGeneres made a plea to “Idol” nation today — telling fans not to blame her for Paula Abdul’s departure from the show.
An excited Ellen called in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” this morning, where she said she doesn’t want people to think she’s “evil” for taking Paula’s job.
Though Paula has yet to comment on the switch, Ellen also said, “I hope Paula is okay with it.”
In complete non-surprise to anyone Paula Abdul comes out saying she was addicted to drugs.

NY Daily News – “American Idol” judge Paula Abdul has been hiding a dark and painful secret for 12 years, she says in an upcoming issue of Ladies Home Journal.
She was an addict, straight up, she finally admits.
“I could have killed myself,” the fairy godmother of aspiring pop singers said as she revealed a dependency on powerful pain killers that she finally kicked last November.
Paula Abdul has “never been drunk”, “never abused prescription drugs” and apparently “never seen herself on American Idol”

MSNBC – Paula Abdul gets candid in an interview with ABC News “Nightline’s” Cynthia McFadden airing Thursday. The “American Idol” judge talks about alcohol and prescription drug use, rumored feuds with her fellow judge Kara DioGuardi and her future with the popular reality singing competition.
Abdul’s free-form feedback style during judging on “Idol” has caused many to wonder if she’s ever battled against alcohol or prescription drugs — something she flatly denies.
“So let me just ask you the question straight up. Absolutely crystal clear you have not abused prescription drugs?” McFadden asked.

TMZ - Idol” contestant Frankie Jordan might want to remember her confidentiality agreement next time she’s out house hunting. The singer blabbed that she is still on the show — which means she most likely made it through Hollywood week. Hopefully after her slip she’s able to stay there.
Wow She looks good from what I remember back in the day. To bad Joey didn’t turn out that way. He’s dumb as a rock “Wuoooooooh”!

The Hollywood Reporter.com – The eighth season debut of the massively popular singing competition lost about 10% of its audience this year and a bit more (-15%) in the adult demo.
“Idol” was seen by 30.1 million viewers, with an 11.7 national rating among adults 18-49 and 28 share. That’s the lowest since the show’s non-comparable series debut in the summer of 2002. Among total viewers, it’s the lowest since a special Monday start in 2004 (30.0 million).
Randy? “Yo Dawg, We can do better!”
Paula? “Blah blah blah *burp* Blah Blah Blah I Love You and your beautiful *hic*!”
