Screech Rakes In Serious Dough at Pizza Place
05th August 2009
TMZ – We were all prepared to shred Dustin Diamond when we discovered he booked a comedy show at a small town pizza joint this past weekend — turns out Screech is the one laughing … all the way to the bank.
TMZ has learned the former “Saved by the Bell” dork got paid $2,000 for a 2-night stand-up gig at Listrani’s — a local pizza place-turned-comedy club in Arlington, Virginia.
Besides the paycheck, the pizza joint also forked over enough dough to cover … Click to find out more

Gawker – They like sci-fi! They wear costumes! They play with light sabers! They saw The X-Files movie in the theater! Yes, every year people freak out when they found out that Comic-Con is full of freaks.
Well, it wouldn’t be the same without them. Here are some of our favorite pictures from the first two days. Strangely, most of them are of women. Like everyone else, the photographer is probably too scared of girls to actually talk to them, so he just snaps away.

“Paula [is] more like your drunk aunt who you laugh at as she drools on herself in the corner.”

Gawker – It’s no secret that Paula Abdul’s position on the judging panel of American Idol is as tenuous as her grasp on reality. Where should she turn for inspiration? Try So You Think You Can Dance’s resident loon, Mary Murphy.
Mary Murphy, on the other hand, is a kook with some cred. Not only did she have a legit dancing career, but her over enthusiasm is saved for the contestants that actually earn it. For those who do less than stellar, she gives them constructively critical remarks.

Gawker – Last night’s episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8 was a compilation, looking back on the (now divorcing) couple’s decade-long marriage. After viewing past seasons, we made our own compilation of the obvious indicators that their union was in trouble.
Having never viewed an episode of this show until last week, and now having watched about a half dozen of them, I’m starting to really like how boring and tense the show always is, because that actually seems to be the Gosselins’ reality…which is rare for a reality show.

Farrah Fawcett, 1947-2009
25th June 2009

Gawker – Actress, model and international sex symbol Farrah Fawcett has succumbed to a 3 year battle with cancer. She was 62 years-old.
After appearing in commercials and as a guest star on various television shows, Farrah rose to fame after posing in a red bathing suit for a poster that went on to sell millions of copies. Later, as a star of the popular Charlie’s Angels, she became a bona fide American star. Fawcett went on to star in many theatrical productions and TV movies, most notably playing a battered wife in The Burning Bed, a role which earned her the first of three Emmy nominations she received. In 1995, at the age of 50, Fawcett made headlines when she posed nude for a pictorial in Playboy magazine.
Fawcett was married to actor Lee Majors from 1973-1982. Since 1982, she’s been in a relationship with actor Ryan O’Neal. Together they had a son, Redmond. Fawcett and O’Neal were set to marry, though we’ve no word on whether they were able to go through with the ceremony before she passed.
In 1997 Fawcett made a bizarre appearance on David Letterman’s show to promote another Playboy spread that she’d done, an appearance she later claimed was an act intended to engage the audience. Act or not, it will likely remain one of the most memorable moments of her time in the public eye.

Gawker – Heidi and Spencer were on Larry King Live, talking about their experiences on I’m a Celebrity…, and disliking Al Roker. But viewers’ Tweets posted on the screen were far more entertaining than anything the Pratts had to say.
